Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.1b) Gecko/20020722 BuildID: 2002072208 Mozilla mail does not distinguish first-time login failures from server failures after first-time login. The latter scenario should not ask for username/password again, because it probably hasn't changed... instead the server is having temporary problems and it should just be retried again. When my mail server has problems, it is very annoying to constantly get a popup asking for my password (which has been cleared out in the dialog). I have to keep typing it over and over until the mail server comes back up. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Read mail. 2.Shut down mail server. 3.You will get prompted to login again... it should just keep trying to contact the server instead.

Mozilla should not try it again with the same password because some Mail servers will close your Accountt after x login Errors. (and the password can really be changed) But Mozilla should not delete the password for random errors, only if you get a invalid username/password answer from the server *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 91656 ***
