Setting this preference used to stop Chimera from opening new windows for external links, forcing Chimera to always resuse an existing window for externam URLs. For some reason it not longer works (I'm using today's (July 24th) nightly) - I can only have new links open in a new tab, or in a new window.

You really want externally-opened links to replace existing content? That's akin to a dataloss scenario for me.

Well, to you, perhaps, it's "data loss". To me, it's "recycling". :) Seriously, that's why it's was a switchable preference - to make both you and I happy. We really should be allowed to turn this off and on.

Is anything happening with this regression? It's annoying the heck out of me...

Why is this assigned to someone who obviously doesn't want to fix it? I would really like to see something happen with this regression: a preference setting (gui or otherwise), something... or should I just assume that this is a dead end and close it?
We need to allow the user to choose between: 1. open in current browser 2. open in new tab 3. open in new window and update the prefs UI accordingly. I do mean to fix this, honest.
Thanks. I am assuaged.

well, this bug, as described, is wontfix. we're no longer using the always_reuse_window pref. it is obsolete, and has been replaced by a new pref that allows more choices, and is exposed in the UI.
