I'm not sure if this entire changeset (https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/4a3536119834) can be reverted or just the stuff commented about XBL (https://searchfox.org/mozilla-central/rev/1fe0cf575841dbf3b7e159e88ba03260cd1354c0/browser/components/downloads/content/allDownloadsView.js#428)
This will need some care / manual testing since I didn't see an automated test in that bug.
