Steps to reproduce:
tried to write a SMS (Provider: Sunrise Switzerland)
Actual results:
instead of number 9 I get hyphen –. I cannot enter a phone number containing number 9
Expected results:
I should get number 9 instead of a hyphen

You should be able to work around this by entering about:preferences into the address bar, clicking the Advanced button next to Fonts and Colors, then unchecking Allow pages to choose their own fonts… as long as you don't have Lucida Grande selected.

Another solution would be to remove the old copy of Lucida Grande that's installed (perhaps it's in the personal ~/Library/Fonts folder?) on the computer. On macOS 10.12 there should be a much newer version (without this flaw) present in the system fonts folder, so there's really no reason to have the old one installed.
