Steps to reproduce:
Open New Tab page.
Left click item from Top Sites.
Immediately after click, switch tabs (ctrl-tab or ctrl-shift-tab).
Actual results:
Site opens is next (or previous) tab that is switched to, not in the new tab.
Expected results:
Site opens in current new tab, leaving other tabs alone.

I believe so, but I cannot confirm. I did not experience this before updating.

I have tested your issue on latest FF release 70.0.1, Beta 71.0b11 and latest Nightly build 72.0a1 (2019-11-20) and could not reproduce it using Ubuntu 18.04.
markppowers0, can you help us investigate? Please answer some questions:
- Can you reproduce in a newly created profile? (you have the steps here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Managing-profiles#w_starting-the-profile-manager)
- Does it reproduce in the latest Nightly? (http://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/nightly/2019/11/2019-11-20-21-52-17-mozilla-central/Firefox%20Installer.en-US.exe) maybe even using safe mode (https://goo.gl/AR5o9d), to eliminate custom settings as a possible cause.
- Which exact Linux system are you operating while this issue reproduces?
- Did it reproduce in any other operating system than Linux?
