Some test directly call hud.ui.clearOutput instead of the clearOutput helper, which is a bit safer as it waits for a given event to be emitted.
In Bug 1579090 I plan to listen to another event when fronts need to be released.

The helper function waits for an event to be dispatched,
which adds extra safety.
