Details

When downloading a file from a ftp server, in this case the Apple developer
site, the program erases the file after it been succesfully downloaded.

It has happend twice for me.
It seems happens when the download destination volume is different than the
"Home" volume. For example, I tried to download chimera.dmg.gz from
"ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/chimera/nightly/latest" to my secondary volume, the
download disappears after it is completed. When I download it to my "Desktop",
which is in my home volume, it can be downloaded successfully.
Additional comment - I have tried in the 27/Jul Nightly.

I'll look into it.

I tried to repro this with 7/26 build, downloading
"ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/chimera/nightly/latest" to an external drive which
contains neither the system nor my home dir. That worked and I then tried it
with the result of that download (the 7/30 build) a that also WFM.

Any other observations? Related to file size, etc?
Summary: Downloaded files sometimes get erased by Chimera. → File downloading fails when destination volume is not the home volume
i have seen this with only 1 volume (my powerbook, single drive, single partition).

The default dir it tried to d/l to was the salted dir in my profile
(mumble.slt). When saving to my desktop (~/Desktop/file), it worked.
