Details

Currently, a batch of cursor entries is only preloaded when the child cannot complete a request from its cached entries. The next batch is only requested when the cache is exhausted again. Latency could be reduced if preloading another batch occurred already when the size of the cache falls below some threshold.

Care must be taken to preserve request ordering when implementing this.
