Steps to reproduce:
Run the wpt test on Firefox nightly build
Actual results:
When setting the initial to be neutral/inherit, the animation doesn't give the right interpolation.

Expected results:
In the test result.

Can you please be more explicit? We need a detailed list of steps to reproduce so that I can confirm it.

Steps to reproduce:
Run the attached test with Firefox nightly build.
The spec for background-image: https://drafts.csswg.org/css-backgrounds-3/#background-image
When animating from neutral or inherit, the from background image does not match the spec.

I still cannot confirm your issue because the attached test page only displays a white page, even if the whole archive is extracted (with the images).
You have to understand that a person with low technical skills needs to be able to reproduce your issue based on some simple steps.
I have set the component as (Core) Web Painting and hope it will be addressed from there.
Create a local server under wpt, and open localhost:8000/path to the test
