User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.0
Steps to reproduce:
I upgraded my Debian from Stretch to Buster, thus Firefox upgraded from 60 to 68
Actual results:
When I open Firefox, I get a message saying that I try to open a profile created with a more recent version than the one I am using, and proposing to create a new profile, which of course looses my toolbar and all my registered passwords.
Opening about:profiles and trying to load the new profile in a fresh browser led to the same message.
I guess it may have some connection with apparmor, as I see this when I run
dmesg|tai
just after trying :
[186765.139875] audit: type=1400 audit(1574948523.017:17221): apparmor="STATUS" operation="profile_replace" info="same as current profile, skipping" profile="unconfined" name="/usr/bin/man" pid=5996 comm="apparmor_parser"
[186765.139885] audit: type=1400 audit(1574948523.017:17222): apparmor="STATUS" operation="profile_replace" info="same as current profile, skipping" profile="unconfined" name="man_filter" pid=5996 comm="apparmor_parser"
Expected results:
I should have found my bookmarks and passwords as usual when I upgrade Firefox.

This error message is documented and a workaround proposed in bug 1554029.
Sorry for the noise, I should have checked this error message earlier.
