User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Fedora; Linux x86_64; rv:71.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/71.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. left clicked on my tab with the mouse cursor.
  2. "drag and drop" the tab to my bookmarks field.
  3. then i released my left mouse button and it crash.

I was watching a youtube video and wanted to make a bookmark by clicking with my left mouse button on the tab, then drag it down to the rest of my bookmarks below the internet search bar and as soon as I released my left mouse button (in order for it to stick to my bookmark field) my application crashed.

reason: firefox killed by SIGSEGV
crash_function: WasmTrapHandler(int, siginfo_t*, void*)
cmdline: /usr/lib64/firefox/firefox
executable: /usr/lib64/firefox/firefox
package: firefox-71.0-8.npgo.fc31
kernel: 5.3.15-300.fc31.x86_64
cgroup: 0::/user.slice/user-1000.slice/user@1000.service/gnome-shell-wayland.service

PRIME Z270-A, i5-7600K, 16GB DDR4, RX 580 8GB, 970 EVO.
Mesa 19.2.7 (compatibility), OpenGL 4.5.

Actual results:

Firefox crashed on cursor release and my bookmark wasn't saved.

Expected results:

The bookmark should stick on release, but thankfully it doesn't happen all of the time.

Hi,

I was unable to reproduce this issue on Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS with Firefox Nightly 73.0a1 (2019-12-12) (64-bit) nor Firefox Release v71.0 (64-bit).

Does this issue occur with a fresh profile as well? You can find the steps here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Managing-profiles#w_starting-the-profile-manager

Can you please download Firefox Nightly from here: https://nightly.mozilla.org/ and retest the problem and see if the issue still occurs there as well?

I've also chosen a component for this bug in hope that someone with more expertise may look at it. We'll await their answer. If you consider that there's another component that's more proper for this case you may change it.

Thanks in advance, Clara

As you use Fedora, can you please try to get a backtrace of the crash?

Fedora specific how-to is here:

Thanks.
