I think the download UI we now have in Chimera is great - nearly perfect :-) The
fact that it doesn't open an initial dialog asking what to do with the file
before the progress dialog opens is much nicer. Since the file gets saved
anyway, if I wanted to launch it with something after the dl, I just click the
"Open" button. It would be really nice if I could move the focus in the dl
dialog by tabbing, getting nice visual indication of focus, and then hit return
when I get to the button I want.
Do you have 'full keyboard access' turned on? If so, then you should be able to
get focus in the download window toolbar with Ctl-t (or whatever shortcut you
are using).

No, if navigating dialogs and toolbars from the keyboard is a standard OS
feature, close the bug.
It is, but we should test it in the download dialog.
I have full keyboard access enabled in systems prefs. I've selected using
function keys. Ctrl-F5 doesn't seem to toggle the toolbar items in the chimera
download dialog. It's only able to select the "Leave Open" button. It's not
able to select other toolbar items or even unselect "Leave Open."
i have full kb access turned on, with ctrl+T to focus the toolbar --after i do
that i can hit the tab key to move amongst the enabled toolbar icons. the key to
activate a focus icon, however, is the spacebar, not return. (i keep having to
remind myself that's how most if not all focused cocao widgets get activated. ;)

also tested using ctrl+f5 as the toolbar focusing shortcut.

marking wfm --however, i filed bug 160756 because the Close When Done icon is
always greyed-out (though active), which prevents tabbing to it.
