Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:71.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/71.0

Steps to reproduce:

Whenever I go to a new website it asks me to allow notifications. when I switch to another program like say blender the popup stays drawn on my screen on top of blender.

Actual results:

The pop up draws over all other programs on my computer

Expected results:

It shouldn't be drawing over my other programs, as it is really annoying.

Hi,

Thanks for the details. I was able to reproduce on Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS with Firefox Nightly 71 but not on Firefox Nightly version 73.0a1 (2019-12-12) (64-bit).

If it's working fine on Nightly 73 builds, it means that when the Release version reaches 73, you'll be able to see the fix. As per the Firefox Release Calendar, Release 73 is expected to ship on 2020-02-11. You can find more info here: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Release_Management/Calendar

You can download Firefox Nightly from here: https://nightly.mozilla.org/

I've chosen a component. If you consider that there's another component that's more proper for this case you may change it.

Best regards, Clara.

Can you use mozregression to find the bug to dupe this to?

Hi,
I've just tried reproducing this issue on Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS , on the following versions

Firefox Nightly 74.0a1 (2020-01-09) (64-bit),
Beta 73.015 (64-bit)
Release 72.0 (64-bit)

But it's not happening (I'm triggering the notification pop up message with the www.infobae.com website, switching then to another program but the pop up message remains on the back as expected). Let me know if you'd like a video attached demonstrating this. I'm updating the flags.

@quaylynrimer please confirm whether it's fixed on your end as well so I can mark this as resolved-WMF.

Best regards, Clara.
