User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:71.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/71.0

Steps to reproduce:

I went to Firestorm Lockwise and searched for "Second" as I have 12 logins with that word in them.

One of the first things you learn when testing something is "turn it off and back on again." So when I noticed on Firestorm Lockwise on viewing logins, "Sort by: (Name A-Z)" was not sorting alphabetically, I switched to "Sort by: Last Used" then back to A-Z. Every time I switch back and forth, A-Z is in a different order, and never alphabetically.

Actual results:

When sorting A-Z on a searched login in Firefox Lockwise, it is not in alphabetical order and the order changes every time I switch to Last Used or Last Modified. The results are never in alphabetical order.

Expected results:

Sorting by A-Z should sort into proper alphabetical order.

Hi,

Thanks for submitting this bug to us!

I was unable to reproduce this issue on my end, I tried on Windows 10, with Firefox Nightly version 73.0a1 (2019-12-12) (64-bit). and firefox release v71.0. I also have several logins saved, the websites are indeed sorted by alphabetical order, if for example I have 5 different accounts within facebook website, those credentials are not sorted by username in alphabetical order (but for instance, if your saved website credentials are facebook, gmail, linkedin and twitter, then they will all be listed in the right order as expected), and switching from sort by name, last used, or last modified, won't alter the order when going back to sort by name as stated in your bug's description.

Here you can find the expected behaviour of Lockwise add-on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/manage-passwords-firefox-desktop-firefox-lockwise

Does this issue occur with a fresh profile as well? You can find the steps here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Managing-profiles#w_starting-the-profile-manager

Or you can also download Firefox Nightly from here: https://nightly.mozilla.org/ , to see if the issue still occurs there as well.

If after doing this you can still reproduce the bug, would you send a screenshot or a video of the bug?

Thanks in advance. I've already chosen a component for this bug in hope that someone with more expertise may look at it. We'll await their answer.

Best regards, Clara.

Fixing the component.

Component: Security → about:logins

P5ing this for now, as this works for me also. If this is not reproducible, we will close it.

I understand that screenshots may not work for showing this, perhaps you can describe how it is not A-Z?

Priority: -- → P5

Websites are listed alphabetically. Logins to those websites are not. That is what I was talking about.

Above, Clara said: "...if for example I have 5 different accounts within facebook website, those credentials are not sorted by username in alphabetical order...."

So Clara, it is perfectly reproducible, as you just said what you said.

Thing is, before I switched to a Firefox account, before I used Firefox Lockwise, those logins were sorted in alphabetical order by username. So I expected Lockwise to be the same.

I think this is a problem that needs to be corrected in Firefox Lockwise. Even when there's only 2 logins for a website, they're not in order alphabetically.

Summary: After searching for a login, Firefox Lockwise does not sort A-Z properly → about:logins "Sort by: Name (A-Z)" sorts by domain name only -- should then sort by login A-Z within each domain

That is a good summary. Please let me know if you need anything else from me.
