Details

OmniWeb has a wonderful feature I would love to see in Chimera. You can set a certain window as the default size, so even if you or something else resizes a Chimera window, any new windows opened are the size you have specified. Thanks.

This is not a dup of 159815. That bug is talking about default position, this is about default size. Basically the issue is, when a user types Command-N, what size do they want the new window to be? Chimera assumes "the same size as the current frontmost window" (or something like that). OmniWeb assumes "the same size the user has always wanted new windows to be in the past". You can make an argument for either way, but I agree with the reporter that the OW way seems to do the right thing more often than the Chimera way.
I just don't think that bug was explicit enough about exactly what the feature does; both these bugs are about duplicating the functionality you get in OmniWeb (A function that remembered the origin but not the size wouldn't make very much sense). You could put a comment on that bug noting that both the size and position need to be remembered if you think it should be clarified.
The idea behind the request is this: Chimera windows seem to open in the size of the last closed window. If I, or even worse, some web site, resized a browser window to something totally useless other than for the previous purpose, new Chimera windows will open in that size, making the user have to resize, sometimes often. A default window size setting would make new Chimera windows open in the user specified size regardless of whatever size the last closed one was.
