Details

We have three items at the top of the Bookmark menu that all do pretty much the same thing. IE gets by with one. I think we can too. And be a lot more consistent and easier to use to boot. We should remove 'Bookmark This Page'. Why is a non-interactive command needed? File bookmark just requires 'enter' to be hit, if you want the default title and default location. I occasionally hit ^D accidentally, and end up with unneeded bookmarks that I don't realize until much later since there's no feedback at all. We should also remove 'Bookmark This Group of Tabs'. Aside from having silly capitalization, it's completely unnecessary. It's the exact same thing as 'File Bookmark', except the box (that you'd see anyway, if you went to try and bookmark each page individually) is checked. The proper way to do this is make sure the option is prominent enough in the 'File Bookmark' dialog. (Which should be much larger, by the way. See IEs (Miles from perfect, but light-years closer then ours). Filing this under UI Design for consideration by owners there.
Bookmark group of tabs *could* be offered as a context menu item for the tabs. Apart from that, I definitely agree the menu should contain only these two elements, as below: ___________ | Bookmarks |______________ | File Bookmark... C-D | | Manage Bookmarks... C-B | |--------------------------| | warez.com: 0-day stuff | | [...] | |__________________________| (The shortcut for File Bookmark and Manage Bookmarks could be changed to Ctrl-B and Ctrl-Shift-B in the process, I suggest)
