Steps to reproduce:
Nothing, just normal Thunderbird updates
Actual results:
The month and year can only be scrolled through using the forwards backwards arrows on the left side bar calendar.
Expected results:
It used to be if you clicked on the MM or YY you'd get a drop down to advance multiple MM or YYs quickly.

That was a change in Thunderbird 68.0,
It was a drop-down list in Thunderbird 60.x.x. Now replaced by the < Month > < Year > feature.
I'll try to find the bug report.
