User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:71.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/71.0
Steps to reproduce:
(1) Visit https://long-extended-subdomain-name-containing-many-letters-and-dashes.badssl.com/
Actual results:
The URL bar shows the origin elided from the right:
https://long-extended-subdomain-nam...
We all know Firefox can resize and it will save position and will work on that position. If we set it to minimum size we can simply find the result.
Expected results:
The URL bar shows the origin elided from the left:
...many-letters-and-dashes.badssl.com/...
The way Firefox android shows, you can check that.

Marco, any reason to keep this security-sensitive? Also, I imagine this is a dupe...

It's likely a dupe and no reason to keep it hidden, though we must find the dupe. So far I found bug 711713, bug 1598175, bug 581313.
I think of all the bunch bug 1598175 is the one to keep around.
We de-emphasize the noninteresting part of the domain and it's clear the domain is not completely visible. I tried in Chrome and Edge Beta, the situation there is even worse (no deemphasize at all).
