This may be tricky considering some engines have a different domain for every locale. People may use a en-US browser with local search engines, so relying on localized engines may not be enough.

Now that bug 1606909 has (auto)landed, is there anything to do here? We support all the Google domains the extension does.

Are we planning to do more sophisticated homepage detection than the extension does?

Not afaik. I think what we're doing in the extension is fine. We do need input from Product on what homepages we're showing Tips on. Mike?
