you can drag a url from the bookmarks sidebar onto a tab and it will load.
however, you cannot drag a tab *to* the bookmarks sidebar to add that tab's url.

bonus points: grabbing (selecting) a group of tabs, dragging 'em to the
bookmarks sidebar, thus creating a bookmark group.

We have to be really careful with getting drag-happy with a control that wasn't
designed to be dragged. As Apple so elegantly put it, "do not use standard
controls in a non-standard way". It is really confusing for the user, who
naturally expects that a standard-looking control behaves in a standard way.

Besides, you can drag a tab's URL into the bookmarks by drag-and-dropping the
proxy icon from the location field into the bookmarks drawer.
Any tab-dragging behaviour would be much clearer, IMO, if tabs showed a
favorites icon next to the page title.
They do now  ;)

You can now drag the icons in the frontmost tabs. Dragging from tabs that are
not frontmost doesn't work. Should it?

you can now drag the site icons for foreground and background tabs to the
bookmarks sidebar. vrfy'd using 2002.08.21.05 bits.
