Details
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.1a) Gecko/20020610
BuildID: 2002061014
I can't seem to easily highlight a portion of a URL or get mozilla to frequently
accept that where I click in a URL is where I want the insertion pointer placed.
Generally Mozilla seems to highlight the entire URL when clicked on or will
highlight from the beginning of the URL to the current mouse location as I drag.
This behavior seems to happen most frequently when the location bar hasn't had
focus and is clicked in.
Double-clicking in the URL, etc, also seems very non-standard (instead of
highlighting the current word, Mozilla highlights everything up to the end of
the current word). I've tried pressing shift and control to see if this modifies
the selection behavior and it doesn't.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Type a URL in the location bar and browse to it.
2. Attempt to highlight portions or edit the URL.
3. PROFIT!
Actual Results: The entire URL up to the point I released the mouse button are
highlighted.
Expected Results: The text between the start of the click and the end of the
drag would be highlighted.
If the theme is important, I'm using the Classic Netscape theme.
