User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:71.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/71.0

Steps to reproduce:

Login with an account using 2FA (two-factor-authentication)

Actual results:

It always displays a red bar "account not verified"
Clicking on the banner only lets you enter the password again, doesn't do anything

Expected results:

Login properly and start to sync
(I had to remove 2FA and disconnect, next login worked)

Thanks for the report! I have seen this issue in the past when folks are using their own self-hosted sync server (https://github.com/mozilla-services/syncserver/issues/168) but have never seen it before against the production servers. Just to check, are you using both the Mozilla-hosted Account server and Mozilla-hosted Sync server?

Yes, Mozilla-based.

Sorry for the lack of updates here, but I really don't have any clues as to what might be happening here. I'm trying to think whether there's anything else we can investigate about your account state. For example, have you recently changed the primary email address on your Firefox Account?

No changes at all.

I had the same problem even before enabling two factor (enabled it later). It seemed to be caused by an update.
First Firefox stopped syncing my bookmarks and manually synchronize didn't work, I didn't see an error message but it just did not update and the Time when it last synchronized didn't update.
I tried logging out and logging back in and it gave me the same message that my account needs to be verified, deleting all my private data inside the Firefox app didn't work, I had to reinstall Firefox completely to get it working again.
