Details
Steps to reproduce:
- Login to Wayland session
- Download Firefox tarball from mozilla
- Launch Firefox with
MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=0 ./firefox - Open GNOME Activities UI
- type firefox
- Hit enter
What happens:
Nothing.
Expected result:
Distro provided Firefox launches.
I am running Ubuntu 20.04 and GNOME 3.34.2
Starting Firefox in X11 mode works fine - I can launch distro-Firefox via the GNOME activities UI. I can still open distro-Firefox via command line by typing firefox in a terminal.
This used to be fine -- I used to have a separate Firefox Nightly entry in the task switcher (alt tab), now it appears with the stable release colors instead of the nightly colors.
I recently got a GNOME Shell update, so if this is an upstream issue, let me know. I mention this because mozregression builds from a month ago shows the same issue.
