Steps to reproduce:
Upon long-clicking the back/forward buttons, firefox presents a menu of history items that are associated with the current tab. From my research, it looks like this information is not available to a WebExtension (though history in general is available). I think it would be particularly useful for WebExtensions to be able to narrow the history results based on the tab they are associated with (if any).

Thanks for filing this feature request. It appears to be a popular request, and it has been filed before at bug 1378651 and bug 1381922 .
