RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1595432

(Reporter: karthikshrinarsi, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:72.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/72.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Add caldav calendar from zohomail, enter application specific password and select save password
  2. Check calendar entries to verify sync.
  3. restart thundebird

Actual results:

1.Password for caldav calendar is asked again
2.Checked saved passwords in password manager, password entry for caldav account is not seen (same observation even before restart)

Expected results:

Password should not be asked on every restart and password should be stored

I agree. Same problem here with Thunderbird 68.6.0 (64-Bit) (Windows 10 64-Bit).
Trying to synchronize with my nextcloud calendar using Caldav.
Password is not stored and every time I restart Thunderbird the Password-Prompt-Dialog appears again.

Bug seems not to affect older Thunderbird Versions (e. g. TB 60.0).

Workaround: Install TB 60.0, sync with caldav calendar, enter password and store it. Close TB.
Copy these two files from TB 60.0-profile folder to TB 68.6.0-profile folder:

logins.json
key4.db

Start Thunderbird 68.6.0. You have to enter all other passwords again and store them.

I can confirm that t still happens in Thunderbird 68.10. (64-bit) (Debian Buster). The workaround did not work out for me.
Please fix this.
