Long-time user here, did some thorough testing with the new megabar.

I think the badges on the favicons are too small to be easily noticed and recognized as a star, tab, ... This could pose a problem for visually impaired people. The badges also add visual clutter to the favicon column, or could interfere with the color of the favicons.

For these reasons, I think it is a good idea to provide a separate column to the left of the favicon column for bookmark and tab symbols (like we have in Release now).
