A re-working of Logan Smyth's patch is percolating at https://treeherder.mozilla.org/#/jobs?repo=try&revision=225cdf7913a61ca560b466c7637f23f5aec0e21b. For my immediate use case we're going to try to downgrade deps so that Node 8 is okay, but this might help somebody else.
