Note

Affected versions

  • Beta v74.0b1
  • Release v72.0.2 and Release v73.0
  • ESR v68.4.2esr and ESR v68.5.0esr

Affected platforms

  • Windows 10
  • 2 monitors, 1 on an integrated graphics card, the other on the dedicated graphics card
  • the video adapter (DVI->VGA) might also be a cause

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open browser.
  2. Run some kind of VPN set on Austria.
  3. Open:
    https://www.prosieben.at/tv/schlag-den-star/video/20201-frank-rosin-kocht-mario-basler-ganze-folge

Expected result

  • The video is properly played; the monitors do not fail.

Actual result

  • The secondary monitor intermittently shows static (about 2 sec / 2 sec).

Regression range

  • I have attempted to find an older working version and went as back as Nighty v55 and could not find a working version (one that plays the video).

Additional notes

  • I have pending Windows update and I will check whether it occurs after their installation.
  • This video does not occur in Chrome, nor Crome Canary, but the video doesn't play anyway.
  • I have captured a video to demonstrate the issue. As always, when attempting to demonstrate consistent behavior, the video did not actually play, but it does:

Let us know if this keeps happening following the Windows update.

Priority: -- → P3

I have retested the issue after system updates and it still occurs the same as before. It does NOT reproduce in Nightly v75.0a1 (2020-02-27) because the "Licence Error" gets displayed and it does not reach the situation to play the video (so it is probably also affected, but unable to reproduce or verify), but it DOES reproduce in Beta v74.0b8, Release v73.0.1, and ESR v68.5.0esr.

Bugbug thinks this bug is a regression, but please revert this change in case of error.
