If you download say, 2000 files then the download manager goes crazy.
"downloads.rdf" get huge (say > 1 Mb) and each time you download a file
download manager will append that file on the disk. This make download extremely
slow, particularly the "saving part". Also in such case removing a file from
download manager window will take at least 3-4 minutes.
And not surprisingly, even a small download then takes up 99% CPU for at least 1
minute in a machine witn 256MB RAM and 800MHz Pentium III
and only running KDE desktop.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. download large number of files, say > 1000
2. each additional download becomes slow
3.
Actual Results: download manager takes forever. download takes long long time
Expected Results: should be fast.
workaround is: delete "downloads.rdf" file from .mozilla/default/taoxn0x9.slt/
directory. Download again becomes very fast.
