Steps to reproduce:
Hello,
How I can pin a custom search engine to a tile on the new tab page?
I can't see the custom search engine on the "Add Search Engine" dialog! (see below picture)
Please help me.
Thanks.

I have set this bug as an enhancement since it appears to be one. It is related to the New Tab page, hence the set component.
Thank you for your contribution!

Can you say when this will be resolved?

Topsite search engines enter into the adress bar with @google, or whatever search engine they are attempting to use.
The search engines supported by the address bar are listed in about:preferences#search
A topsite search cannot enable a search engine that the address bar doesn't support, so we probably need to fix it in the adress bar first, to enable a custom search engine, then we can allow for a topsite search to use that.
I don't know what's involved with that, so I cannot comment on when this would be done, but I can move this into the search component as a possible better location. Feel free to move to another component if search is not correct, or back to this one, if it is in fact the correct component.

The bug for adding more aliases to the list is bug 1526983. I think we can add that as a blocker to this one, and keep this in the new tab page so that it can be found more easily.
