From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.0.0) Gecko/20020530 BuildID: 2002053012 For some reason Mozila is ignoring the automatic proxy configuration URL. The URL I have is pongo/cgi-bin/proxy.pl. I have clicked on Reload but that doesn't do anything. The user is able to go to any site with out going through our proxy. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Type in proxy URL 2.Click on Reload 3.Click Ok 4.Try to go to a site that would normally be blocked by our proxy. Actual Results: I was able to go to the site that should have been blocked by the proxy. Expected Results: It shouldn't have went to the site.

You must give Mozilla the complete URL to the PAC File. http://pongo/cgi-bin/proxy.pl -> Networking

Putting the http:// in front of pongo/cgi-bin/proxy.pl took care of the problem.

Summary: Automatic proxy configuration being ignored → PAC: being ignored
An error would have been nice (bug 90308), but this is really bug 82992. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 82992 ***
