Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Firefox

  5. Exit full-screen mode by double-clicking

Expected result

  • Video enters and exits full-screen mode and the video controls are visible and are functional

Actual result

  • Video controls are completely disabled.

Regression range
This issue doesn't appear to be a regression.

Additional notes

  • This issue appears to be reproducible only on live streams that contain Twitch overlays.

I'm unable to reproduce this on Windows 10, 75.0a1 (2020-02-28) (64-bit). The video controls I see on Twitch are provided by Twitch and are not the default Firefox video controls. Can you share a screenshot of the controls that you see when they do work?

Reproduced the issue with 68.06 ESR on Windows 7.
In my case the STR were done in a quick succession. IT might help.

This issue is not a regression, I was able to reproduce this issue 100% in all versions of Firefox including 73.0.1 all the way back to Fx 55, I will update the flags and remove the regression window wanted flag.

This is easy to reproduce if you can find any Twitch video with overlay on (recommend Hearthstone channels since most of the users have the Decktracker overlay on) as soon as you exit Full Screen mode the Overlay dissapears with all of the video controls.

This issue does not occur on Chrome.

Thank you for the screenshot. Those are controls implemented by Twitch.tv, so it looks to be a bug on their side. I'll move this over to evangelism, hopefully someone on that team can reach out to Twitch.

Component: Video/Audio Controls → Outreach Request
Product: Toolkit → Developer Engagement
Version: Trunk → unspecified

I think the Web Compatibility product is the right place for this bug. That product seems to be where all the activity and "broken in Firefox, works in Chrome" bugs are.

The description for the Developer Engagement product where this bug currently is says "requests for events, outreach and demos"

I've checked a few live videos, and for me the Twitch controls are available and functional at all times.
