It used to be that in order to have taskcluster look at the .taskcluster.yml file in a github repo, you had to add the taskcluster-github integration app to your repo. It used to be easy to find the way to do this in the docs. However, current documentation at https://docs.taskcluster.net/docs/manual/using/github or https://docs.taskcluster.net/docs/reference/integrations/github makes no mention of this. The "page information" (big question mark in top-right) at https://community-tc.services.mozilla.com/quickstart does still mention this step, but links to https://github.com/apps/taskcluster which is a 404.

So (a) how do I make community-tc pick up the .taskcluster.yml file in a repo I have, and (b) please update the documentation to make this more explicit.

Summary: Documentation for taskcluster-github documenation is incomplete → Documentation for taskcluster-github integration is incomplete

Dustin, do you know? I want to be able to run taskcluster testing on my github fork of webrender but I'm unable to find out where to enable the integration.

I think this is a dupe of bug 1629623. In looking, I noticed that while we added a SiteSpecific bit there to link to the app for a specific deployment, I missed the existing link to the now-defunct app. So I'll fix that up, too.

The app is https://github.com/apps/community-tc-integration.

(In reply to Dustin J. Mitchell [:dustin] (he/him) from comment #2)

The app is https://github.com/apps/community-tc-integration.

Thanks. I thought that's what it was called, and so I used the search field at https://github.com/apps to look for it. "TC" and "Community-TC" both don't find this, and "Community" gave too many results for me to bother looking through them all, but this wasn't on the first page of results. Is the app "hidden" somehow or not publicly searchable?

It's not listed on the Marketplace. Listing an app has some requirements, several of which we don't satisfy as a not-quite-public app. At one point "Apps" and the "Marketplace" were different, and it was possible to search for apps -- but it appears that's no longer the case.

Ah, gotcha. Thanks!
