We can probably start with inset to provide an alternative transform&geometric change animations, so that we can encourage people to use clip-path animations instead of problematic geometric change animations (bug 1540906).

It looks like this is fixed in Chrome Canary, and ready to ship soon https://issues.chromium.org/issues/40503852.
