Why was this reported to Firefox, instead of e.g. Netflix or Ubuntu?
Because I was able to play it on Chrome Ubuntu. Also the help page for the error code on Netflix didn't say anything about support for browsers on Linux. So I posted it on here.

I believe that error is associated with not supporting a media type Netflix is trying to play. Could you navigate to about:support
and use the copy text to clipboard button and then attach that information to this bug?

In many cases we rely on the underlying OS to decode media. In the case of Netflix it's a little more complex. Do you have ffmpeg installed? If so, what version?

The bug has a release status flag that shows some version of Firefox is affected, thus it will be considered confirmed.
