I spent some time looking at performance regressions on perfherder with the default setting of 2 days that disappeared when I increased it to 7 or 14 days. Unfortunately, it took me a while to notice that the default was only 2 days.

Increasing the default to a larger number of days would make things easier for people who are new to using perfherder.

Another possibility would be to autoselect the number of days so as to show a sufficiently large number of recent runs (e.g. 25 or 50).

I discussed this with jmaher a bit and it sounds like what the sheriffs see are alerts based upon 12 revisions before and 12 revisions after the revision in question in autoland. So maybe what I'm looking for is a view in perfherder that automatically selects 24 revisions from autoland that are based off the same or close revision from mozilla-central as the revision I'm looking at on try. That would give me an idea of what would happen if I were to land the changes.
