I have no idea what category this should go with. I'm guessing Installer.

With Windows 2000 SP3 and Windows XP SP1 (not yet released), there is a new
applet for setting the default Mail,Web Browser, and Java items for the system.
Since this is a new feature, non-Microsoft products are not 'aware' of it and
do not appear on the list. More information can be found at
http://www.theregus.com/content/4/25957.html
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;[LN];Q324644 (link renders
terribly in Mozilla, FYI)

I can't attach a screenshot of the new Control Panel item since my current box
does not have SP3 installed. I will add one later if someone else does not.

I'm not sure if this is a duplicate or dependent. Also, that bug is talking
about XP SP1. I would say that this is a dependency.
bug 156698 is a meta bug for tracking what is needed to handle the changes in XP
SP1.
See also bug 156701 which handles these changes for SP1 and bug 160452 for
handling the changes in SP3 on Windows 2000.
Also after using these versions of the Installers- check out how the applet for
choosing defaults and see how it is handled.
