one of the features of internet explorer that are missing in mozilla is the ability to save a complete page in a single file (and i use that feature a lot) i know that there are already some rfe about saving a page as mhtml. i don't want that. i just want an option to save a complete page, but also to compress all the files into a *single* archive (that could be .zip or tar.gz) the option to save a complete page is already implemented (but the page is saved to multiple files, like an html and some gif). to implement this rfe you only have to zip the files before saving on disk (you could use a filename extension like .htmz as an example). note that a similar feature is implemented in konqueror from kde, if you want to see how they did it. thanks.

i don't think this is a duplicate 40873. that bug is about implementing the *full* rfc 2557 (mhtml), instead in this bug i'm only asking a little enhancement to the (already implemented) option to save as html, complete web page. i only want to save to a single file. that's all. don't need mhtml. compared to bug 40873 the enhancement i'm asking for is much simpler and maybe it can be implemented without too much effort. instead bug 40873 is more difficult to implement, and, to be honest, i don't hope anymore to see it implemented any time soon.

we will not implement 3 different ways for saving complöete web-pages in a compressed file. If you can't wait for that feature you can always attach a patch. This is not simple since you must also be able to open those files. You need a new extension that you can associate this file type with mozilla but none wants to do this with normal compressed file extensions. (i don't want to open .zip, .gz with mozilla).

>If you can't wait for that feature you can always attach a patch. unfortunately i'm not a c++ programmer so i cannot send any patch. >none wants to do this with normal compressed file extensions. >(i don't want to open .zip, .gz with mozilla). if you read carefully i have suggested a filename extension like .htmz
