This is not the behaviour on any searchbox that I can see across the UI.

I have verified this issue using the latest Firefox Nightly 77.0a1 (Build ID: 20200420214939) on Windows 10 x64, Mac 10.14, Ubuntu 18.04 x64.
- The magnifying glass no longer becomes too opaque when the search box is focused.
