RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1600153

People

(Reporter: time2sit, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:74.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/74.0

Steps to reproduce:

It happens every time. I don't have to do anything to reproduce it. Its been going on for months. In the Firefox community we were told it would be fixed with an update beginning of Feb. Update came and problem not fixed. I have a MacBook Air running Catalina 10.15.3 OS. I've deleted FF several times and re-loaded. I've deleted cookies, etc. It does NOT happen with iOS.

Actual results:

Every time I click on a link in an email or text it triggers two (2) FF browsers opening. Neither go to the link, rather to my home page. The browser on top does not have the tool bar at the top of the page.

Expected results:

Just one browser opens to the url from the link on which I clicked.

Yes, I know that. A fix was supposed to be in a February update. That update came and the problem still exists.

If it's been reported then why isn't it fixed? Why were we given a fix in February that did not fix it? When will this be fixed?

Would a fix take this long for PC users? What, exacxtly, is FF doing to fix this?
