Seen on macOS, 76.0a1 (2020-04-06) (64-bit) and (2020-04-05)
To repro:
- Close Nightly.
- Click a link from 3rd party app. I clicked this link from within a Slack(v4.4.1) message.
- Nightly opens 2 windows - one for the link I clicked, and another for new tab.
Expected:
I'd expect to see Nightly open one window with one tab for the link I clicked.
Actual:
Nightly opens 2 windows, one of which was completely unexpected.

Confirmed today against 77.0a1 (2020-04-16) (64-bit) that this is still happening.

Hi Rachel, this sounds a bit contextual. Could you help by:
- Verifying whether this reproduces in a fresh profile (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Firefox/Multiple_profiles#Profile_management might help)
- Visit
about:supportand attach a paste of it (there's a button to copy to clipboard at the top of that page).

Also, for reference, here is the exact doc I'm linking to (although I really don't think it matters as I just made a new one for testing and was able to repro immediately)
And here is a recording of me repro-ing the problem.

Hmm, this looks like a real bug, but given that Firefox needs to be closed to repro, and to be realistic about when this can get some attention, marking this P3.

Because this bug's Severity has not been changed from the default since it was filed, and it's Priority is P3 (Backlog,) indicating it has been triaged, the bug's Severity is being updated to S3 (normal.)
