Can't dismiss calendar events - similar to past bugs

Steps to reproduce:
Recurring Google calendar events are on my Thunderbird Lightning calendar. When the reminder for event pops up, I try to dismiss the event. I am running Thunderbird 68.6.0. I look through the bug history. There are a number of bugs that are similar but old. I had this problem in the past, it went away. It is now back again.
Actual results:
I click on the dismiss button but nothing happens.
Expected results:
The calendar event should have been dismissed.

Is this with the Provider for Google Calendar extension or a Google CalDAV calendar?

I use a Google CalDAV calendar in my production profile, created a test event and could not reproduce the problem.
I created the event and set a reminder.
Dismissed the reminder.
Edited the event for a different time and set a reminder.
Dismissed the reminder.
Repeated above steps several times.
I installed the Provider for Google Calendar extension when testing the 68.7.0 release candidate and also could not reproduce the problem following the above steps.
Does "Dismiss All" work if these are recurring events?
"Dismiss All" does not work either.
If you can explain how to capture an error log file or the contents of the meeting notices I can do that. I'm an engineer and software developer with decades of debugging experience so I can follow directions pretty well.
It does not happen will all meetings, right now I have 4 that I can't dismiss. There are typically 3-5 others per day that I can.

Thunderbird & Lightning developers decided some time ago that issues regarding Provider for Google Calendar are no longer tracked in Bugzilla. Please refer to instructions listed on its extension homepage https://github.com/kewisch/gdata-provider/wiki/FAQ#bugs-and-limitations.
