User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:75.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/75.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Downloaded Firefox from Mozilla's German-language webpage.
  2. Open "Preferences" and go to the "Language" section
  3. Chose another language (English).
  4. After the browser was restarted, all display menus except one are in English.
  5. One menu (the bold one that says 'Firefox' and where I'd go to get to Preferences) remains in German.
  6. I have tried running Terminal and using -purgecaches but this does nothing for me.

Actual results:

The text from the menu remains in the German language.

Expected results:

The text from the Firefox menu is translated into the English language.

Thanks for filing the bug. Setting NI to myself to try this tomorrow, and see if I can replicate.

  1. Installed 75.0 (64-Bit) in German on macOS 10.15.3 (19D76).
  2. Added English and restarted the browser

All menus are in English for me, including the Firefox to the right of the apple icon.

Did you completely quit Firefox before using the -purgecaches option?

Hello Francesco, yes I did quit Firefox before using -purgecaches. I've attached a screenshot above of what I see. Thanks!

Sadly, I'm out of ideas. I don't think it's a problem on your system, more something stuck in your Firefox profile.

To confirm, can you try to create a new profile and switch to English?
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-remove-switch-firefox-profiles#w_manage-profiles-when-firefox-is-open

Create a new profile from about:profiles, launch profile in new browser and try changing the language to English. I would expect everything to be in English. At that point, you can close the browser and remove this test profile.
