Eckard, can you see this?

I can't reproduce this issue in TB 76.0b1 running macOS 10.14.6

Is this on a laptop / monitor?

I also don't see it on my macbook air with 10.15.4

I've found out what causes it: enabling subpixel anti-aliasing (for fonts) on external displays via Deeper.app (which toggles a certain defaults write key, though whether it is defaults write -g CGFontRenderingFontSmoothingDisabled -bool NO, defaults -currentHost write -globalDomain AppleFontSmoothing -int 1 or both of those I am not sure.
Other apps do not have this issue so I do know it must be some funky interaction Thunderbird has with this setting.

No longer blocks: wr-mac, gfx-triage

On 78.0.2 I cannot. I'm trying to figure out how to attach a screenshot in a comment..

This is with the light theme and font smoothing enabled via Deeper.app (which sets the aforementioned keys).
