Cutting and pasting IM conversation grabs html tags

Details
Cutting and pasting IM conversations should only grab the conversation, not the
underlying html tags. To reproduce, cut from the NS7 IM rcv window with
timestamps turned off, then paste that content into an imwindow with the
recipient being someone using regular AIM. They'll get the following:
TestAng (11:01:03 AM): TestAng<span class="logtimestamp" style="display: none;">
(11:00:07 AM)</span>: timestamp cut and paste
TestAng<span class="logtimestamp" style="display: none;"> (11:00:07 AM)</span>:
timestamp cut and paste

uhm.. isn't that a bug in Netscape's IM module? (and so imvalid)?

So, you're saying thats the way cut and paste is supposed to work?
Angelo: I believe what he's saying is the bug is in the Netscape product, not
Mozilla. Mozilla doesn't even include an IM module. Therefore, invalid.

I don't think this is invalid. It is a problem across the entire Mozilla
application. I think this is a duplicate of bug 64647.

marking as dupe of bug 64647
This bug is invalid since mozilla has no AIM Client.
If this problem is in the whole platform, it's a possible dupe of bug 64647

this is an aim bug. you canot start stripping out stuff willy nilly in html
copy or paste. That breaks the generality of copy/paste and drag/drop.

I think this isn't a dup of bug 64647. I say that becasue I think styles in the
aim text are expected (by the user) to be copied, and seen at paste if the
target of paste is html editor.
So this is about stipping out special aim crap, which makes it an aim copy issue.

The issue was that cutting a hidden span would grab the span tag as well as the
hidden span itself, and not a wysiwyg cut & paste.
