Steps to reproduce:

Don't know for sure, but this could be an effect of restoring the tabs after a crash of Firefox.

I experience this very recently only, current version is 75.0 (64-bit) (Mac OS X).

Actual results:

A zombie Firefox window is displayed (see attached image).

Besides that, Firefox seems to work fine, I can access my other 10 Firefox windows with their 1000s of open tabs.

Expected results:

No zombie. Or at least, I should be able to close this zombie window by clicking on the red X in the top left corner. But the X is not active.
I can minimize and maximize the window, but not close it.

Are you able to reproduce this? If so, what are the steps? Or was this a one-time occurrence?

It was reproduced when I shut down Firefox and restarted. When my windows were restore, so was this zombie window.
However, I got rid of the weird window somehow and now have not seen it coming back.

According to Comment 3 the issue does not reproduce anymore, so I'm going to close it for now.
Feel free to re-open it if it reoccurs but make sure to add some viable steps which we could use to reproduce it ourselves.

I am seeing it again after I had to switch off my Mac due to hanging. After restarting the Mac, with Firefox restoring the windows, I am again left with a zombie. Some malfunctioning dialog (blank rectangle) and no close button. Window does not respond to anything.

Suggestion how to reproduce:

• Have plenty of tabs in plenty of windows open.
• Hard-shutdown your Mac (stay on the power button).
• Check if Firefox produces a zombie when automatically restoring the windows and tabs.
