[Tracking Requested - why for this release]:

(hopefully) Go decision coming 5/11. That means we'll roll out to 100% in Firefox 76 Release. We'll need to uplift this to be on by default in Firefox 77 Beta as early as 5/12 - but definitely before 5/19.

Thanks for checking in, Julien! The holdback study appears to have gone a bit sideways. We're debugging and working on next steps ASAP.

The goal is to get the information needed for Product decision today/tomorrow, so we can request the uplift before EOD tomorrow if we're a go. I'll keep you posted!

Beta/Release Uplift Approval Request

1. Download a UK browser.
2. Set browser.search.region to "GB"
3. Set browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.discoverystream.region-stories-config to US,DE,CA,GB
4. Set browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.discoverystream.region-layout-config to US,CA,GB
5. Restart
6. Open a new tab

Expected, you should see 7 rows of pocket stories.

• Why is the change risky/not risky? (and alternatives if risky): It's just a pref flip for functionality that we've been testing for a while now.

I have verified this task with the "browser.search.region" pref set to "GB" in the "about:config" page and I can confirm that the "Recommended by Pocket" section, containing 7 rows, each row with 3 cards, is successfully displayed on the "New Tab" page.

Verified using the latest Firefox Beta en-GB locale (78.0 Build ID - 20200622230509) and latest Firefox Nightly (79.0az Build ID - 20200623034439) installed on Windows 10 x64, Mac 10.15, and Ubuntu 18.04 x64.
