Details

Attempt to find text string with "bookmark find" is terrible, takes 30 seconds or more (bookmark file is 700K). When I cleared memory and disk cache (15MB and 50MB respectively) the find speed dropped to a few seconds, very acceptable and roughly the same speed under Netscape for same size bookmark file. Is this perhaps related to bug 162576? Moz 2000272208. Similar results also with more recent build versions.
Correction - response time is much worse than I first reported. It is about 1 minute 20 seconds - during which time all of mozilla is not only unusable, but the screen painting is broken. If I clear the 50meg disk cache, then the response of the 'find' function is about 3-4 seconds.
WFM with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.1b) Gecko/20020818 and 350K bookmark-file Reporter, please - use actual build - give _complete_ information concerning your mozilla vrom mozilla- HELP as you see above!
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.1b) Gecko/20020722 (on windows 2000) What do you mean "actual build"??
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.1b) Gecko/20020820 I updated mozilla - still an issue, but unpredictable. Cache is 102 objects, 18.1MB. First find today was a 'location'/URL, took 90 seconds. BTW, why is bookmark 'find' searching and finding hits in the history list??
