The deletion-request ping contains a sync_device_id field, which corresponds to the deviceID field of the sync ping. For reasons, the deviceID field of the sync ping is 64 characters long but the sync_device_id in the deletion request is only the first 32 characters. So we need to delete sync pings where the first 32 bytes of the deviceID matches the sync_device_id from the deletion request.
