Quick launch has been totally broken in the last few nightly builds. After the
last mozilla window has been closed, the option to exit quick launch is
disabled, so I cannot exit it without using Task Manager. In addition, when I
double click on the Quick launch icon or the mozilla desktop icon, no new window
comes up so effectively Mozilla is hung.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Bring up browser with blank page.
2.Close the window immediately.
3.Quick launch is now broken.

If confirmed, there's a bug chance that it is related to fix for bug 119034
(Crash in XPCOM:EventReceiver or nothing happens if you start Moz quickly after
closing it), checked in on 13/08.

Unsure about that chance unless we can better define when the breakage occurred.
Bug fix 119034 went in on the 8/13, a week ago which puts it outside of the
last few days.
Just FYI, Quick launch works for me in both a 8/13 mozilla 1.1 branch build and
a 8/20 trunk build. Not saying I didn't cause it, but I am not seeing the
breakage offhand.
There's another bug, filed later, but it has a patch.

Reading more closely, I think this isn't bug 163718. Reopening. Note I can't
reproduce this bug. Quicklaunch works fine for me under these circumstances
(though my build has the fix for 163718 in it).

I had this exact same problem too. The fix, and I hate to call it a fix, was to
delete the folder c:\program files\mozilla.org AND the Mozilla folder in the
Application Data. Also, another symptom for me was that when the broswer opened,
I had lost all of my bookmarks on my personal toolbar and the URL would not show up.

I also had the problem where my personal bookmarks were wiped out too, in
addition to the problem specified by this bug. I filed another bug for this
problem, not thinking the problems were related, but maybe they were.
